vodafone.de

Vodafone offers mandatory a proxy to reduce the size of images. This leads to faster download of websites, but also results in so strange behavior if you use in the same CAR-A-WAN another provider. Why?

Vodafone.de translates every html-file and replaces the ULR of the images with a link to the smaller version in their cache. If now the frame if fetched through the vodafone.d-network and the CAR-A-WAN decides due of a network insufficience in the vodafone.de network to re-route the the traffic through the other module, the links to the images are wrong, because the smaller images are only reachable from the vodafone.de-network itself.

The workaround is to use another APN, which is not affected by a mandatory proxy: volume.dr2gprs.de
